Brand Kent

The closure of Visit Kent and Locate in Kent in September 2025 was a huge blow to our local economy. These organisations played a vital role in promoting Kent as a destination for both tourism and business. That’s why Kent County Council will be proud to be working with Medway Council to launch a new joint initiative – ‘Brand Kent’ – to ensure we continue to attract visitors and investment to our region.

KCC is building a new in-house service that draws on the expertise and networks of the former organisations, and will be engaging with industry partners to make sure all bases are covered.

Despite the financial pressures KCC faces, we are committed to restoring these services because they are essential to our local businesses and communities.

Tourism alone brings in £4 billion a year and supports nearly 78,000 jobs. Locate in Kent helped create or retain over 70,000 jobs. These numbers speak for themselves. With Brand Kent, we’ll continue to champion Kent and Medway as world-class destinations for both visitors and investors.
