Kent & Medway Business Fund

The Kent and Medway Business Fund (KMBF) delivers real impact for our local economy – supporting innovation, growth and job creation across the county.

Since its relaunch in late 2023 – following a successful negotiation with Government to retain the rolling fund due to its proven economic value – the KMBF has recommended 58 loans totalling £7.38 million between February 2024 and October 2025.

Recent recipients reflect the diversity and ambition of Kent’s business community. These include:

  • Three West Kent businesses: one offering private sonography services, another specialising in plumbing and heating (including air source heat pump installations), and a third designing and manufacturing leather gloves for wheelchair users and Paralympians.
  • A unique Afro Caribbean fusion restaurant in Mid and North Kent.
  • A Maidstone-based company offering modular storage pods that are delivered and collected directly from your door.
